Project #2 Taking a stand, experimental video/sound:
Objective: to create a 3 minutes video that promotes awareness of one or more social /political issues in the world. The choice of your theme may come from an existing topic or you may come up with your own meaningful issue.
During this assignment students will continue to develop their skills in Garageband, and learn about editing video in iMovie.
Each student is responsible for signing out their own camcorder, camera, firewire cord and tripod from the Library on Campus. Call ahead to reserve.
The length of this project is two weeks. During the first week you should be collecting a variety of imagery, footage and sound that will be used in the editing process of your piece. All gathered footage and imagery is due on 10-28-09. We will be editing in class.
Requirements:
Part 1: due 10-21
1- Research an issue of interest. Write one page explaining your chosen topic and why it's important for you. Post it to the class blog. While writing your paper think about, What kind of message would you like to transmit to your audience? Where are you getting your footage, imagery, and sound?
2- Find 3 examples of multimedia work that tackles a social/polital issue. Post on the blog with a response to each.
3- Bring all raw imagery, video and sound that you have collected.
4- In your journal, create a rough story board about your piece.

All work must include:
- Video and sound
- Text
- Title and credits
- Proper research
- Thoughtfulness and creativity
- Intentional editing of video and sound
- Responsible defense of choices
