Project #3 Spoof/ Pet Peeve

The goal of this assignment is to explore creating a web page using humor and sarcasm to make a spoof of some aspect of mass media.  For this project you should use well-developed imagery as well as expand upon your knowledge and use of CSS Style sheets. 

On the Class Blog:
-Find 3 examples of something in media that you would like to base your site upon and post the links, as well as a description as to why this certain subject is something that you wish to create a spoof of.

In Your Journal:
-Map out Site – How you want it to look and how you want the pages to link
-Write a paragraph about what statement you are trying to make.  What is your intent in choosing this subject matter?

Your site can be a direct spoof of a particular site, or you can create your own site.  It must be at least 10 separate html pages.  Keep in mind that this site should not just be a copy of the site.  You should develop your ideas in such a way that your site is unique to you and your opinions while showing all of the skills that you have been learning up to this point.  Something that may help you is creating a site based upon a personal media pet peeve (i.e. everything flashing on a site, lack of clothing on sites that sell clothing, big corporations, etc.).

Some things to consider:

• Overemphasis
• Using a site that already exists as inspiration
• What imagery will you use?
• How you can manipulate imagery to fit your purpose?
• What are your personal pet peeves in media?
• What statement are you trying to make?
• Do you want to be annoying or simply humorous?
• How do you make this site look real? professional? convincing?
