Project Part II - Initial Design of your Online Studio
In your journal, make a flow chart of your site.
Describe the following:
- Is there a theme?
- What does it look like? Where are you getting your imagery?
- What do your think is important to include about your process as an artist? What is your process? Where do you get your sources or inspiration?
- What do you want the your peers to get out of your studio?
- What would you like to achieve with this studio?
- What makes your online studio unique and creative?
Part III - Building your online studio
For this project, I will introduce HTML, Macromedia's Dreamweaver CS4, sizing of files, color depth and layout. This introduction will supply you with information to successfully design an introductory web site and maintain it. Using your previous web research, produce a personal artist site. This site should function as an artist site. Do not include pictures of family, friends, pets, etc. You can include work from any other art courses. *Get pictures as soon as possible. Your interests, style, ideas and good design choices should be clearly demonstrated on the site. Your site should communicate who you are as an artist and be consistent.
Your online studio must include:
- Project area
- Pick a cause
- Email link
- Link Area - that showcases your research
- Link to course blog
Keep in mind that the most successful web sites are fairly simple in design. Size is of great importance, so keep your files to a minimum. Also, this is your first site so keep it to a minimum (technically) until you are comfortable with the tools. You can expand on it later. |
