Video Installation
(Video Projection, Sound, Trackball and CD)
This interactive CD-ROM implements levels of interpretation of the story of Little Red Riding Hood through image and sound.
Speakers point sound from the direction of the video projection. Words from various Little Red Riding Hood texts are spoken. Particularly, well known phrases, such as "what big eyes you have.", and "what big teeth you have.".
This work is exhibited with video projection in front of a red trackball submerged into a red podium for viewer interaction.
As an artist, I become the storyteller in a hierarchical structure that feeds down to the viewer who becomes the next of the next storyteller. As the viewer changes each frame by moving the red trackball, a new storyteller is projected. As the participant explores the multitude of choices, a unique story is created and told through my predetermined images and sounds. The piece is ultimatley enhanced by the viewer's association with the story.
